‘Bad idea!’ Hunt slammed for ‘spineless’ U-Turn on IR35 reforms – ‘massive oversight’

“With yet another fiscal statement pencilled in for October 31, when will it end? 

“What we all desperately need – businesses, workers and even MPs – is stability, clarity and a robust plan of action so we can all get on with things.”

Andy Chamberlain, director of policy at the Association of Independent Professionals and the Self-Employed (IPSE) roundly critiqued the announcement today.

He added: “We know that the Government is well aware of the problems caused by this damaging legislation – the previous Chancellor said so at the mini-budget and the Prime Minister made it clear during her leadership campaign. Despite this, it has today taken the spineless decision to row back on its promise to repeal the reforms.
