Fellow pundit Joe Cole agreed with Ferdinand’s assessment, adding: “I think he’s Berbatov, with a yard [of pace].”
Former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchison was particularly impressed with Havertz’s display against Madrid, calling it his “best game in a Chelsea shirt.”
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Hutchison said: “Kai Havertz without a shadow of a doubt is man of the match. This has been his best game in a Chelsea shirt. He’s dominated Sergio Ramos.”
Speaking after the game, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel said: “I’m very, very happy that we achieved this. I’m in general very grateful that I have the opportunity to live my life in football and fill this passion as a professional.
