China could nuke 'anywhere in the world' after satellites uncover secretive missile base

China “has the ability to strike almost anywhere in the world,” after satellites picked up a secretive facility set to house more than a hundred nuclear missiles. WION’s Palki Sharma said that the “discovery has set off alarms bells around the world”. It marks the second new nuclear missile silo field to be spotted in western China in the last two months.

Last month, 120 silos were spotted at a site in a desert area in Yumen, in Gansu province.

This new field covers an area of about 800 sq km in the desert near the city of Hami.

Mr Sharma told viewers: “A new field to launch nuclear missiles is being built right in the middle of a desert.

“Experts claim that when this base is completed, China could have the capability to launch over a hundred nuclear missiles.”

He added: “It signals that China is undertaking a vast expansion of its nuclear arsenal, one that would rival the stockpile of the US and Russia.

“It is the second launching site to be uncovered in recent weeks. Taken together, China has 230 new missile silos to launch nuclear weapons.

“Beijing may not have the biggest stockpile in the world but it has the ability to strike almost anywhere in the world.”

The terrifying satellite images from Xinjiang province came from a report from the Federation of American Scientists (FAS).

The Command tweeted: “This is the second time in two months the public has discovered what we have been saying all along about the growing threat the world faces and the veil of secrecy that surrounds it.”

This also comes just two weeks after China threatened to strike Japan with a nuclear bomb.

A spine-chilling video released on a Chinese Communist Party-controlled TV channel aired the threat.

In the video, a PLA military spokesperson said: “When we liberate Taiwan, if Japan dares to intervene by force, even if it only deploys one soldier, one plane and one ship, we will not only return reciprocal fire but also start a full-scale war against Japan.

“We will use nuclear bombs first.”
