How do I clean kitchen utensils and appliances using baking soda?
Though it may sound bizarre, according to Ms Stevenson, all you need in order to eliminate rust is baking soda and, surprisingly, a potato.
She told Express.co.uk: “Baking soda is really powerful at removing rust.
“If you have rusty utensils, cut a potato, dip it in baking soda and then rub away the rust.”
Baking soda can also be mixed with water to create a thick paste.
Then, simply spread the paste over the areas of rust on your utensils or appliances.
Let the paste sit on the object for around an hour, and then use steel wool or a wire brush to scour the object and remove the rust.
However, it is worth noting that some items can become scratched by the use of steel wool or wire.
After scrubbing, simply rinse away and dry thoroughly.
