Dominic warned against pouring grease down the drain, and make sure to remove grease from pots and pans by giving them a wipe with a paper towel before washing them.
There are many eco-friendly ways to prevent drains in your home from developing any nasty residue that can congeal and form an unpleasant smell.
One of them is to pour boiling water down the drain before waiting for five minutes and then pouring an equal amount of cold water down too.
These ingredients are natural and therefore eco-friendly, but they also make a huge positive difference to the cleanliness of various appliances and surfaces in your home.
To unblock a drain with the products, Dominic recommended first pouring a cup of white vinegar down the sink, let it sit for 30 minutes, and then rinse with hot water.
Add baking soda to your cleaning routine by first pouring a pot of boiling water down then drain, and then put half a cup of baking soda down too.
Let the ingredient sit for a couple of minutes before following it with a cup of white vinegar and a little more hot water.
Leave the mixture to sit for five to ten minutes and then flush everything down with boiling water again.
Dominic added: “You should be able to hear the chemical reaction as it bubbles away. With a bit of luck, the debris caught in your drain will be broken down.”
