Co-op issues urgent food recall for salmon dish – ‘Do not eat it!’

[ad_1]

Co-op is the latest to issue a food recall notice. Any customers who have recently bought the Salmon En Croute are being asked to return the product to store. Here are the details.

The pack size is 400g.

One batch code is WO140950, with a use by date of November 11, 2021.

The other batch code is WO140951, with a use by date of November 12, 2021.

As for what action Co-op is taking, alongside recalling the product from customers, they have also contacted the relevant allergy support originations, which will tell their members about the recall.

The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

The FSA’s advice is: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to prawns (crustaceans), do not eat it.

“Instead return it to the nearest Co-op store for a full refund.

“If you are self-isolating or shielding please contact the Co-op customer careline on 0800 0686 727 or email [email protected]

What is a food recall and/or allergy alert?

The FSA explains: “Sometimes there will be a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold.

“Then it might be ‘withdrawn’ (taken off the shelves) or ‘recalled’ (when customers are asked to return the product).

“Sometimes foods have to be withdrawn or recalled if there is a risk to consumers because the allergy labelling is missing or incorrect or if there is any other food allergy risk.

“When there is a food allergy risk, the FSA will issue an Allergy Alert.”
