Could you be eligible for free bus travel at 60? How to check if your area qualifies

Currently the state pension age for both men and women in the UK is 66, which is when people can apply for a free bus pass.

However, depending on where they live in the UK, they might not have to actually wait this long.

In Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, people can hop on the buses for free when they are 60.

It’s the same in some parts of England for local residents. This includes London – residents there can travel during off peak hours for free when they are 60 too – as long as they travel within the city.
