Once someone is eligible for their Covid vaccine, they are being invited to book their appointment via the NHS website. However, to book the appointment people are asked for their NHS number, which many of us will not know off by heart.

How can you find your NHS number?

The online NHS Covid vaccine booking service requests people enter their NHS number.

However, if you don’t know your NHS number don’t worry, as it is still possible to book a Covid vaccine appointment without this.

The booking service will ask you some other questions if you do not know your NHS number in order to book the vaccine appointment.

Other eligible people include those considered clinically vulnerable or clinically extremely vulnerable.

People with learning disabilities, carers and frontline health and social care workers are also eligible for vaccination.

When using the online service to book Covid vaccinations, both appointments need to be booked at the same time.

The second vaccine is given eight to 12 weeks after the first dose is administered.

It is also possible to book Covid vaccine appointments through GP practices.
