With plenty of new events kicking off in July, there is still plenty of reason to track down the Xur location today in Destiny 2.
The Agent of the Nine can sometimes provide a hit or miss inventory list, but it’s always worth double-checking just in case.
July 9 is the day Bungie will be bringing back the popular merchant, but it will be a while before we know exactly where he is.
Guardians in North America will be waiting until late morning for their chance to track down Xur.
Meanwhile, Guardians in the UK will have the new collection of weapons available by the evening.
The first step will be sweeping the various Destiny 2 locations to find out exactly where Xur is.
Last week, Xur could be found in the Tower Hangar behind Dead Orbit, offering a mix of items to buy with Legendary Shards.
The Destiny 2 Xur location from July 9 until July 13 will be revealed at 6pm BST, and it won’t take long for Guardians to start hunting the Agent of the Nine down.
All the items will be available until the weekly reset is completed and all rituals are wiped.
For anyone who has forgotten, Legendary Shards used by Xur items are remnants of powerful items used to improve gear or trade for other items.
It should also be noted that Xur will be dropping items similar in power level to your character.
And another part of Xur that is new to the latest version of Destiny 2 is that he now drops Cipher Quests for free.
The Quest will reward you with an exotic Cipher, and last week included completing 21 Strikes or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.
Every week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that will decrypt as Exotics that aren’t already in your collection.
This is on top of a new list of items to purchase, with Xur selling these last week: The Huckleberry SMG for 29 Legendary Shards, the Knucklehead Radar for 23 Legendary Shards, the Antaeus Wards Titan Armour for 23 Legendary Shards, and the Chromatic Fire armour for 23 Legendary Shards.
Plenty of other updates went live this week that might overshadow the return of Xur on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
This included the Solstice of Heroes event, a new weapon tweak and new Raid options, with Bungie telling fans:
“It’s that special time of year when Guardians travel to European Aerial Zone to earn their Solstice armor and get their glow on. You can get the full scoop on our Solstice of Heroes page.
We also had Vault of Glass Master difficulty go live yesterday and a mid-Season shake-up of the weapon sandbox. For the full details check out last week’s TWAB and our patch notes for Update 3.2.1.
“Guardians are buzzing around the European Aerial Zone chasing after chests and upgrading their armor as we speak. That’s not all, Vault of Glass Master difficulty also became available this week for all players.”
