From 1972-1976, Elvis Presley had a long-term relationship with former Miss Tennessee Linda Thompson. After their break-up a year before his death the former couple remained close friends. Now, aged 70, Linda regularly shares fond memories of her time with Elvis.
Earlier this week, Linda shared a rare picture with Elvis Presley in a car that she admitted she hasn’t seen before.
The King’s ex wrote: “Throwback Thursday… Once in a great while, a photo surfaces that I haven’t seen before.
“This is one of those photos! Elvis and I were coming or going to Stax Records in Memphis where he was recording an album in 1973.
“We weren’t wearing seatbelts, so it looks like I was bracing myself against the dashboard.”

Linda added: “A beautiful vintage ruby bracelet that Elvis had given me while we were in Hawaii is visible on my wrist…
“Elvis was in his Superfly fashion mode during this time…thanks for this photo to whomever posted it! #Memories.”
The accompanying snap saw Elvis and Linda in a car with The King wearing a big hat and glasses, while she can be seen in the background “bracing” as mentioned.
A couple of months ago, Linda shared an unearthed tour photo with Elvis that she also admitted to have not seen before.
Linda broke up with Elvis in 1976 because she wanted a more normal life out of the limelight.
During his last year, The King would go on to date Ginger Alden, who tragically would be the one to find him dead after a heart attack on the toilet on August 16, 1977.
During an interview last year, Linda was asked to share something about Elvis that wasn’t very well known.
The 70-year-old said: “There’s a lot about Elvis that people don’t know. Most of it is very, very good.”
Linda added: “He was an incredible human being, very generous – generous to a fault.”
And apart from pointing out he was a twin whose brother was sadly stillborn, she also revealed Elvis had webbed toes.
She said: “He had twin toes, which meant that his second toe from the big toe and the third toe were conjoined up to what would be the knuckle.
“And I used to tease him a lot about having webbed toes! So he had twin toes. That’s something most people don’t know.”
