Emma Raducanu withdraws from Kremlin Cup as British sensation changes schedule

Emma Raducanu has made the last-minute decision to pull out of next week’s Kremlin Cup in Moscow. The US Open champion entered her first tournament since winning at Flushing Meadows last week at Indian Wells.

Having risen No 22 in the world rankings ahead of the event, there was also an outside chance of Raducanu climbing even further with one eye on the season-ending WTA Finals.

But she lost in her first match in the second round against Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich.
