Mrs Hinch, whose real name is Sophie Hinchliffe, garnered popularity after sharing her cleaning tips and recommendations on social media and TV. The cleaning enthusiast has managed to gain over 4.1 million followers on Instagram. Now, fans of hers have created their own social media groups dedicated to cleaning and tidying tips.

A third person said: “I fill a small jar with vinegar, cover with cling film, prick a few holes in and the flies get in but can’t get out.

“If you don’t like the idea of vinegar, you can use fruit and a little water.”

A fourth penned: “Get a small bowl and pour white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar. They will go to it.”

Another suggested: “Apple cider vinegar and washing up liquid.”

One person said: “Fruit flies absolutely hate lavender!”

Another user agreed: “Try spraying lavender.”

While another individual said: “Citronella candles or melts… work a treat.”

A fourth cleaning fan replied: “Hang a sandwich bag filled with water and a 1p or 2p coin inside it on the outside of your window or door. Honestly works.”
