Although it is not advised people holiday to countries currently on the amber list, flights will still operate for a number of amber countries from May 17.

Flights began operating to places like Rome, Paris and New York from England’s major airports on Monday, MailOnline reported.

Holiday operator TUI is allowing customers to fly to green listed Portugal.

But the holiday operator is also running trips to amber countries, including Antigua, Barbados, Cuba, Greece (selected islands), Grenada, Malta, Spain (Canary Islands) and St Lucia.
