How to clean stainless steel sink with baking soda

2 mins read

As you would think the sink would be one of the cleanest places in the home given how often it comes into contact with soap and water, it is actually a hotspot for grime and grease leftover from dishes and hand washing. Getting that all-important shine can be difficult with stainless steel, but baking soda will leave your sink streak-free.

Baking soda is super effective at tackling even the toughest grease and baked-on food.

For this method, you only need two main ingredients – water and baking soda.

First, mix two to three parts of baking soda with one part water to make a paste.

Fix until it reaches the desired consistency and there is enough to cover your whole sink.

Every stainless steel appliance has a grain – if you feel some resistance as you wipe, you are likely going against the grain.

You can also run the water in the sink and get rid of the paste that way.

Remove any excess baking soda residue and moisture with a dry cloth.

You can also spray the stainless steel with some vinegar and water, then wipe.

This will add to the shine of your stainless steel sink.
