Jill Biden health: US First Lady taken to hospital for ‘procedure’

President Joe Biden, 78, has often experienced speculation over his health due to his old age, unlike the First Lady. President Biden is the oldest president in US history and last released his health records in December 2019, the few weeks running up to the Democrats’ first caucuses and primaries. Dr Kevin O’Connor from the George Washington University described Mr Biden at the time as a “healthy, vigorous, 77-year-old male who is fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency to include those as Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief”.

How is the First Lady?

Jill Biden, despite being seen at the hospital on Wednesday morning, is understood to be doing fine.

The White House says President Biden accompanied his wife to an appointment where she underwent “a common medical procedure”.

The White House says both Mr and Mrs Biden will return to the White House and “resume their normal schedule”.

The Wednesday morning hospital appointment came after a late-night alteration to Mr Biden’s schedule.

President Biden, however, is a different story, having previously suffered two brain aneurysms in the late 1980s, one of which ruptured.

Mr Biden also had deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, or blood clots.

More recently, he had his gallbladder removed and was treated for non-cancerous polyps and skin abrasion.

As of the time of the December 2019 medical support, Mr Biden was taking blood thinners, it was reported in the December 2019 medical support.
He was also taking medication for acid reflux, cholesterol and seasonal allergies, but recent information isn’t known.

Last month, he fell up the stairs of Air Force One, which White House officials blamed on wind and the stairs being “tricky”.

Political opponents, including former President Donald Trump, saw the fall and stoked speculation that something was amiss with his health.

During an interview on Newsmax, President Trump said: “There’s something going on, it’s crazy.

“What’s happening is crazy and you wonder whether or not all of the things that he’s signing, whether or not he understand what he’s signing, because this is worse than Bernie Sanders at his worst point.”

President Biden is understood to be in good health all-in-all and Mr Trump’s comments about him not understanding documents he’s signing are unfounded.
