Furious Manchester United fans have hit back at MUTV whose stream ran into issues during the Red Devils’ pre-season match with Derby County.
Fans of both sides experienced technical difficulties when attempting to stream the encounter, with many paying subscribers and one-off purcharsers among them.
Derby County released the following statement: “We are aware that some supporters may currently be experiencing issues with the stream of today’s game.
“Our Streaming partners are aware of the issue & are working to resolve their platform wide problem. If your stream is working as normal, you don’t need to do anything.”
A second statement was issued after half-time which read: “We understand this issue has now been resolved by our streaming partner. We thank you for your patience.”
The match-up with ex-United legend Wayne Rooney in the Derby dugout was the Red Devils’ first run-out this pre-season.
Fans were allowed back into Pride Park for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tahith Chong opened the scoring for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in the first-half, although many viewers were left unable to see it.
Distraught Reds fans took to Twitter, with one saying: “You lot at #MUTV need to get a grip. What’s the point of paying to watch a game when you can’t watch the game?”
