Man Utd owner Joel Glazer lays down transfer gauntlet to John Murtough in new statement

Manchester United co-owner Joel Glazer has admitted that despite the club’s impressive summer transfer business, there’s ‘more work to be done.’ Glazer joined another Fans Forum meeting on Friday via video link from the United States.

United enjoyed a successful transfer window ahead of the 2021/22 season, with new director of football John Murtough brokering three major deals.

Long-term target Jadon Sancho joined in a £73million deal from Borussia Dortmund, addressing United’s need for a right-winger.

Harry Maguire also received a world-class centre-back partner in Raphael Varane, who arrived from Real Madrid for £41m.

Cristiano Ronaldo also completed a sensational return to Old Trafford, 12 years after leaving in 2009, in a £20m move from Juventus.
