Michael Schumacher took Vettel under his wing during his era of dominance, and the German is now good friends with his son.
“He [Sebastian Vettel] helps me a lot, he is my mentor, just like my father was for him. He gives me advice, we often talk,” Schumacher Jr explained.
Schumacher will take the first steps to emulate his father’s success at Ferrari next season after being named as one of the team’s reserve drivers.
And Vettel has encouraged him to follow in Michael’s footsteps with the Maranello outfit, whom he drove for from 2015 to 2020.
