M&Ms go woke! Chocolate characters ditch stilettos for trainers in ‘inclusive’ society

A Mars spokesperson told the Mail they would now be a “professional height”.

Mars wants the green M&M to be “better represented to reflect confidence and empowerment, as a strong female, and known for much more than her boots,” the spokesperson added.

The chocolate manufacturers also want to push an “added emphasis on the ampersand […] to demonstrate how the brand aims to bring people together”.

For video adverts, Mars will also update the tone of voice of the characters to one that is “more inclusive, welcoming, and unifying,” while remaining part of M&Ms’ supposed “signature” sense of humour.
