Newcastle owners delay next manager appointment with promise to Graeme Jones

2 mins read

Graeme Jones is set to have the chance to impress as Newcastle United interim manager until next month’s international break, according to reports. Newcastle are yet to decide on Steve Bruce’s successor at St. James’ Park after sacking him this week.

According to The Telegraph, Jones will remain interim boss for the next three games as Newcastle’s new owners ponder their options.

Amanda Staveley, leader of the consortium that bought the club from Mike Ashley earlier this month, has pinpointed Paulo Fonseca as her preferred candidate.

But, despite the ex-AS Roma manager’s interview going well, it has been stressed that he is just one of a selection of potential replacements.

Newcastle’s owners want to help the club return to the top of English football and are working hard to identify the correct football specialists to lead the way.
