Nottingham Forest are apparently furious after tonight’s clash with Bournemouth in the Championship was called off and the Cherries refused to reschedule it for tomorrow. The two teams are currently both in the hunt to win promotion to the Premier League.
Forest have been in decent form in recent weeks and have won four of their last six league matches.
Steve Cooper’s men have also knocked Premier League giants Arsenal and Leicester City out of the FA Cup since the turn of the year.
And a win against the Cherries would have taken them into fifth place in the Championship table.
But Bournemouth announced less than four hours before the match was due to get underway that it would not go ahead.
“Tonight’s game against Nottingham Forest has been postponed for safety reasons following damage to Vitality Stadium caused by Storm Eunice,” the club wrote on Twitter.
According to The Telegraph, Forest chiefs are understood to be furious after pressing the Dorset side to make a decision by this morning at the latest.
The east Midlands team travelled down to the south coast on Thursday evening and had been willing to play the match on Saturday. But Bournemouth declined the offer.
