Earlier this month Liam spoke candidly about a possible reunion for One Direction. He likened the band’s almost inevitable get-together to that of Take That’s reunion. The Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow-fronted band famously got back together in 2006 after ten years apart. Liam said the group “killed it” before adding he “hoped” 1D could do the same. These comments have made a big change to the odds on the band’s reunion.
Liam said: “I remember going to see [Take That] at Wembley and they smashed it out of the park. I am hoping we can do the same but all good things take time.”
He added: “Hopefully it will come back either bigger or better.” (Via Hits Radio)
This week Ladbrokes slashed One Direction’s odds on getting back together by the end of the year.
The bookies gave the band an incredible 1/2 odds on a 2021 reunion.

The firm’s Alex Apati said: “Liam has likened a 1D comeback to that of Gary Barlow and co.
“The odds suggest fans won’t have to wait long to see the X Factor stars sharing the stage once again.”
On Take That, Liam added: “As the main songwriter that would probably be my thing. I was always Gary Barlow anyway, I was the dad of the band!”
This is not the first time Liam has been speaking in recent weeks.
The video no doubt sent the 1D fandom – Directioners – into a frenzy, as the band members have seldom spoken so candidly about Zayn’s exit.
Zayn quit the band in March 2015 while on a world tour with the band.
In a statement, the youngster announced he wanted to leave the band to lead a “normal 22-year-old life”.
The remaining four members continued on for the rest of the year, before going on an indefinite hiatus.
One Direction has always been at the forefront of the members’ minds, however, as proven by Louis Tomlinson’s recent post on Twitter.
On the 11th anniversary of One Direction being formed, he told his 35.8 million followers: “Thank you for the memories #11YearsOfOneDirection.
“Thank you as always for your amazing support!”
