Zayn, the former One Direction singer, released a collection of songs this week seemingly kickstarting his own rap career. The star, who released a pop album earlier this year titled Nobody Is Listening, dropped three songs in a collection he titled Yellow Tape. The trio of hits included criticisms aimed at a number of people, including his former boss, Simon Cowell.

The song in question reportedly included the lyric: “Glad we left the Syco.”
This is of course a reference to Cowell’s record label, Syco, which is the company the band were signed to when they left the X Factor.
Zayn quit Syco in 2015 when he left the band unexpectedly, ending their relationship.
A year later, Zayn released his first solo record, Mind of Mine, through RCA Records.
This wasn’t the only attack Zayn allegedly made against some popular culture figures in his new songs.

Zayn reportedly also hit out at The Queen in one of his new tracks.
He supposedly rapped: “F**k the Queen, she gon’ knight ’em for their violence.”
It is not completely clear why Zayn was hitting out at The Queen, but he had previously met her at the 2012 Royal Variety Performance.
Zayn also hit out at American rapper Kanye West.
Zayn quit One Direction in March 2015. By the end of the same year, the band had split up.
Since then, fans have been yearning for the Fab Five to get back together.
At the moment, Ladbrokes have some strong odds on the team reuniting before the end of 2021.
The bookies gave the group an incredible 1/2 odds on a reunion by the time the year is out.
These odds follow Liam Payne’s comments about how similar 1D are to legendary boy band Take That.
Take That famously got back together ten years after their split.
On this, Ladbrokes’ Alex Apati said: “Liam has likened a 1D come back to that of Gary Barlow and co.
“The odds suggest fans won’t have to wait long to see the X Factor stars sharing the stage once again.”
