Queen Maxima is a 'fashion powerhouse' but 'doesn't know when to stop' – 'too much!'

Queen Maxima is currently in Sweden for a state visit. Yesterday, October 11, she stepped out in an all-pink outfit to meet Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson.

The Dutch Queen was pictured in a head-to-toe baby pink outfit on her first day in Sweden.

Her pink dress was by Belgium based designer Natan, and it is a structured piece with a high neck and bell sleeves, made just for her.

The dress features a tight bodice and a loose belt tied around the waist, cinching her figure.

The skirt billowed out slightly and was pleated, and fell mid-calf.

Maxima paired this unique dress with a Valentino wool and cashmere-blend cape in camel, which she has worn out and about before, most recently in April and March this year, as well as December last year.

The cape is currently sold out, but was available to buy on Net-A-Porter for $4,900, or around £4,444.

On her feet, Maxima donned suede Gianvito Rossi heels, named the 105 Praline Pumps which are still available to buy for £560 from Net-A-Porter.

Maxima chose the beige suede pair, but they are available to buy in a variety of other shades, including black, beige and midnight blue, and they also come in different fabrics – suede, leather or patent.

To complete her look, Maxima wore pink leather gloves, the Hermes Jige Elan 29 Clutch bag, and a fascinator.

The Elan Jige 29 is meticulously crafted from Epsom leather with the iconic H detail on the front, and the royal wore it a month earlier.

Her fascinator was again the same colour as her dress, gloves, and shoes.

As for jewellery, Maxima donned silver bracelets and reflective, shiny dangling earrings.

Royal fans were quick to comment on Maxima’s outfit, but her bold, all-baby pink look divided opinions.

Some praised the Dutch Queen for such a daring outfit, while others said it was “too much”.

Instagram user @ansgarden wrote: “I love her, but I have to say: too much of everything.”

Catherine Duncan wrote: “I think it’s far too much, Max needs to tone things down a bit.”

User @chumphrey wrote: “The dress has a lot going on. It seems to be a very formal dress for the occasion.”

User @kirsties_mom said: “She really doesn’t have great style. Great style is knowing when to stop – she just piles it on.”

On the other hand, user @luxmeagainpreloved commented: “Look who is on a state visit! Apologies in advance for the fawning! Love this over the top look – Max is one of a kind, and a fashion powerhouse! She can do no wrong. Even when it’s wrong it’s right. Ok I’ll stop.”

User @kaycotterill22 added: “Love love love this. Only she can carry it off.”
