The service is initially focusing on areas in the north and then will roll out further. It aims to give customers a speedy and secure way to order and receive medicine at home.
According to research since the start of the pandemic 4.3 million adults across the UK have ordered medication online to be delivered to their homes for the first time.
One in eight (12 percent) UK adults currently have medication regularly delivered in the post.
Royal Mail is launching same day deliveries for some Pharmacy2U medication and healthcare products.
This will initially be done via the Chemist Direct brand.
Around 39 percent of those who ordered medication online to be delivered by post in the past 12 months did so for the first time, according to new Royal Mail research.

In the coming months, Royal Mail and Pharmacy2U will extend their partnership to deliver across the UK.
Amid the pandemic, Royal Mail has been working closely with pharmacy companies and NHS trusts across the UK throughout the pandemic by delivering prescriptions, vaccination and hospital appointments.
Royal Mail has also been a key partner for the Government’s Coronavirus testing programme since the start of the pandemic, delivering and collecting test kits across the UK since April 2020.

Royal Mail delays have been affecting services all over the public.
When delays are expected, the postal service will let customers know through online updates.
This week, a “security incident” in Plymouth has led to delays in the delivery of letters and parcels.
A statement said: “Due to the evacuation of staff at our Plymouth Mail Centre and Plymouth Delivery Office, mail processing has been affected due to an ongoing security incident.”
