Rebel Wilson has been open about her weight loss journey with fans over the last year, explaining that she embarked on a journey last year to focus on her health. The actress reportedly followed the Mayr Method to help her lose 65lbs.
It isn’t considered a diet but rather a lifestyle change and it emphases on consuming breakfast.
The creator of the diet Dr. Franz Xaver Mayr was said to believe that everything is connected to the guy and what we eat, or don’t eat, can affect overall health and wellbeing, including weight.
Followers of the plan but not snack in between meals and must eat at a table without any distractions.
Slimmers also can’t drink while eating and they must stop eating at 7pm.
Foods consumed on the diet include fresh fruit and vegetables, proteins, nuts, seeds and healthy fats.
Gluten, dairy, added sugar, processed foods and beverages including coffee, fizzy drinks and energy drinks are off the menu.
Rebel visited VivaMayr in 2019 in Austria, which is a luxury detox and wellness centre.
She visited again in 2020 to help her lose more weight, telling People magazine that she wanted to lose two more kilos.
The actress explained: “I went back because 2021 is going to be an insanely busy year with project after project, so I wanted to come back to VivaMayr.”
Rebel added that she wanted to boost her immune system.
However due to the pandemic, the star’s projects were put on hold and instead, Rebel was regularly spotted on hikes and long walks.
The Hollywood actress also had a personal trainer and explained that she exercised up to six times a week.
While exercising doesn’t directly contribute to weight loss, it can help provide a larger calorie deficit.
However, Rebel did explain that it was never about the weight that made her want to focus on eating healthy and exercising.
She said: “You never want it to be about the number, because it really isn’t about that.
“It’s about: I was doing some unhealthy things to my body and just wanted to change it and become a healthier person.”
