The UK beaches that could rival Kourtney Kardashian and Travis’s engagement location

4 mins read

After years of ‘will they, won’t they’ moments with Scott Disick, Kourtney took to her Instagram to announce the news sharing a snap of her and Travis standing on a California beach surrounded by a sea of red roses circling them.

The nature of the proposal aside, what we couldn’t look past in the Instagram photos shared by Kourtney was the beautifully scenic location in which Travis popped the question.

According to TMZ, the romantic gesture took place at the beachside, Rosewood Miramar Hotel, in Montecito, California.

Whilst the pictured golden sands and rolling waves are enough to make us hop on the first plane to LAX, in the UK we are actually spoilt for choice when it comes to our own British beachside hotels.

We’ve gathered a list of a few destinations to give you inspiration for the perfect place to pop the question along the stunning coastline of the UK:

Carbis Bay is the only British hotel complete with its very own 25 acre Blue Flag beach in St Ives, Cornwall.

The main house was erected by celebrated Cornish architect Sylvanus Trevail in 1894 and brings a touch of grandeur to the stunning seaside location.

The estate spans over an impressive 125 acres and includes fine-dining, a spa, watersports, a pool and countless accommodation options. One of the most popular being the two-storey, balconied Beach Houses that boast access straight onto the sand.

With an unrivalled view of Mawgan Porth beach in Cornwall, the proudly eco hotel includes glass, roofs under a blanket of sea thrift and infinity pools, all in place to emulate the relationship between the great outdoors and the interiors of the hotel.

This adult only sanctuary is incredibly popular and bookings tend to fill up rather quickly.

Godolphin’s interior design is inspired by its coastal surroundings with an aim to bring the outside in. There are plenty of areas throughout the hotel available to relax and lounge around with a two storey dining area enveloped in glass at the heart of the venue.

Both the restaurant and bar lead to a balcony upstairs and a terrace below with views across to the Mount’s Bay sweep, opposite St Michael’s Mount.

The Gallivant

Placed perfectly atop the rolling sand dunes of Camber Sands in East Sussex, the California-inspired motel is nothing short of idyllic.

Think all things driftwood, marble and beach huts with nods to muted colour palettes and a beachy aesthetic.

You’ll find a restaurant with a wonderful view of the dunes and even a spa set in a beach hut and a library for you to source your next read for an afternoon at the beach.
