Three SWAT officers and a civilian have been shot after law enforcement attempted to serve a homocide arrest warrant in Pennsylvania, local media reports.

The officers were injured on 10th Street in North Philadelphia at around 6am local time.

One police officer was shot in the leg, another in the hip and a third sustained a gunshot wound to the chest, according to reports from local media.

It is thought they are in a stable condition in hospital.

They were taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for treatment.

The civilian’s condition after the shooting in the West Poplar district has not been released.

The civilian suffered a gunshot wound to the head, CBS News reported.

A “barricade situation” unfolded at the scene, according to a local affiliate of Fox News.

The National Fraternal Order of Police Officers, an influential law enforcement union, confirmed reports of the shooting on social media.

The account tweeted: “Please pray for the three Philadelphia Police SWAT officers who were shot this morning while serving a warrant.
