Timo Werner aims sly dig at Man Utd after Chelsea beat Man City in FA Cup semi-final

Chelsea forward Timo Werner insists the “two best teams in England” fought out Saturday’s FA Cup final in a sly dig at Manchester United. Chelsea beat Manchester City 1-0 at Wembley to reach their fourth final in five seasons. Hakim Ziyech’s second-half goal was enough to end Pep Guardiola’s hopes of winning a quadruple.

Chelsea are currently fifth in the Premier League table, 20 points behind leaders City.

Second-placed United are seven points clear of Leicester in third and nine points above the Blues.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are in the semi-final of the Europa League, though Chelsea are also in the last four of Europe’s elite club competition the Champions League.

Werner clearly does not think Premier League standings count for much and was delighted to come out on top over City.
