Tottenham boss Antonio Conte juggling three transfer exits in final week of January window

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is reportedly set to juggle three potential exits in the final week of the winter transfer window as he continues to tweak his Spurs squad. While the Italian is unlikely to have the final say on recruitment, technical director Fabio Paratici is currently working on moving players on from the club in a bid to free up some funds to spend.

It’s been a quiet transfer window from Tottenham so far but they remain confident of finally tying up a deal to sign Adama Traore this week.

The jet-heeled Wolves winger came off the bench for Bruno Lage’s side in their 2-1 win at Brentford on Saturday but now he’s expected to depart and move to north London.

Spurs remain hopeful of executing other deals too but crucially, outgoings could hold the key.

Conte has already laid on record that he is not overly keen on weakening his squad before he’s added more quality.

Newcastle are understood to be keen on signing the attacking midfielder – potentially on loan.

He currently looks the most likely Spurs player to depart this month, although it remains unclear whether he is willing to leave.

Nice are also thought to be keen on signing Gil on loan for the rest of the season.

He played just the final minutes of Spurs’ 2-0 defeat at Chelsea, an all too familiar pattern this season.

Gil has really struggled for minutes this season and that is likely to continue with Tottenham now out of Europe.

Meanwhile, Lo Celso has failed to live up to expectations after his £55m switch from Real Betis in August 2019.

The Argentine was brought in to replace Christian Eriksen following his move to Inter Milan in January 2020.

Tottenham are hoping to bring in at least one more signing after they land Traore.
