If someone applies for an advance online, they will be shown on screen the repayment amounts for different repayment periods.
If they apply by phone, the Universal Credit helpline adviser assesses whether they can afford to repay the advance.
If they agree to the advance, they will tell them over the phone:
- How much they can have
- The monthly repayment amounts
- When the first repayment is due
Deductions are made from one’s monthly Universal Credit payment, this is how the deduction is repaid.
