Wimbledon rocked by ATP action as tennis body removes ranking points from 2022 event

Wimbledon has sensationally been stripped of its ranking points after remaining firm on its ban on Russian and Belarussian players. Stars from both nations will not be able to enter the men’s draw due to Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, with the WTA expected to make a similar announcement on the women’s draw on due course. 

The ATP said: “The ability for players of any nationality to enter tournaments based on merit, and without discrimination, is fundamental to our Tour.”
